Youth
Brass 2000 is a youth band based in Wilbarston
Village, Northamptonshire.
We compete in many National and European competitions, and as you can see
from our list of achievements on the right we don't do too badly! However Youth Brass 2000 do more than just compete, we play in many
concerts, local events, and go on an annual tour. We have been known to
perform all over Europe, with Paris, Holland and Germany
being just a few of our more recent venues.
We also do several social events throughout the year, ranging from
barbeques to visits to see famous bands in concert. In the
past we have taken the stage in the BBC studios and performed in front of
the cameras for Blue Peter. We have produced many CD's, our latest being Pure Gold. One, a Christmas CD, entitled, We Wish You A
Merry Christmas includes tracks recorded both by ourselves and senior
band, Foresters Brass 2000. The other CD, entitled Spots & Stripes
forever, includes many of the bands favourite items. Samples of both these
CDs can be found on the CD/Tapes page.

Our
Artistic Director, Lord Chris Jeans is a renowned trombonist and conductor
in his own right and is currently Principal Trombone with the famous
Virtuosi GUS Band. His past accolades include being Brass in Concert
Solo Champion two years running and being Principal Trombone for many top
bands, including the likes of Black Dyke and Yorkshire Building Society
Band. Our Director of Music, Peter Collins, is an Ex-Principal Cornet of
Youth Brass 2000 and currently is Principal Cornet of the Polysteel Band. He
now conducts 1st Section Band, Foresters Brass 2000, and has played for
many of the top bands, including Desford Colliery, and Yorkshire Building
Society Band.

The

during our 2006 tour!
It's not all hard work though! Here is another picture of us in Germany outside our
accommodation on our Annual Tour in 2006!
